What Is Influence Marketing?
Holly Hamann of tapinfluence sums up influence marketing as “Partnering with influencers who help create and share peer-trusted content.”
Influencers are a social economy who have earned the goodwill of their community. In return, they earn brand sponsorship and are tasked with delivering that brand’s message, to build trust and attract new consumers.
For example, a rising luxury clothing brand has released its spring collection. They reach out to several popular fashion bloggers and trend-watchers and ask them to review and/or write a review or series of blog posts around spring fashion trends, with the luxury brand as the background to the story. The influencer receives compensation, and the brand gets more exposure to an audience they may have not known about them or would not have considered them before reading the review or blog posts.
