ESG United Church

Discover. Your Way.

Challenge

Respond to dwindling membership and an aging demographic to help grow a sustainable ministry. Grow awareness of ESG’s creative and committed leadership and help establish a welcoming and engaging culture and community.

Solution

Transforming the brand, communications, and digital presence to introduce a revitalized organization without alienating the 60+ segment, Ramp dramatically modernized ESG for the next generation. Research indicated that younger demographics perceive churches as an obligation. Worse still, they find them preachy, boring, and rigid. Our intervention, at the intersection of religion and spirituality, centres the universal desire for growth. With a fresh brand promise, “ESG fuels my growth”, Ramp reframed the competitive context: We were no longer competing with churches, but places where communities grow together like after-school programs, yoga studios, libraries and community centres. We modernized the logo, established a vibrant look and feel, and updated language to align with the promise. A shortened name, simply “ESG”, represents Mind Body and Spirit and a new tagline “Discover. Your way.” infuses the joy, energy and youthfulness this community needed to transform.

"You wowed us with your pitch and then over-delivered every step of the way. It was so thought-provoking and fun to work with you. You moved ESG from communications strategy, to a new logo, to a creative platform, to a campaign in-market... and then welcomed everyone to a revamped website. You were a highlight of 2020."
