Community Campaigns for a Community Hospital

Challenge

Following the success of the Heart of the East campaign, Michael Garron Hospital Foundation needed to maintain momentum while continuing to deepen how the community understood and connected with the hospital. The goal was to move beyond general awareness toward genuine pride and belonging — balancing emotional storytelling with clear proof of impact and building a foundation for future engagement without introducing a direct fundraising ask.

Solution

Ramp developed two successive campaign phases that each addressed a different dimension of that challenge. The first, This is Our Hospital, made the hospital's impact concrete and visible through real stories, real staff, and real moments of care. A digital-led video series ran across social channels and drove traffic to in-depth storytelling on the Michael Garron website. The campaign reached 1.1 million people and generated 5.1 million impressions, outperforming projections by a significant margin. The second phase, We Get Better Together, widened the frame to make the collaboration behind care visible. Centred on the Stavro Emergency Department, the campaign featured fast-paced video and staff photography across social and out-of-home placements. Together, the two phases built a truly human picture of the hospital — positioning it as a place shaped by and for the community it serves.
