Violence Against Women Services Elgin County felt it was time for a new name and identity, to continue growing their reach and to help people understand that they are so much more than an emergency shelter.

Solution

Ramp created a new brand identity for the organization with a new name: Valora Place. Valora is female name of Latin origin meaning "brave or courageous." Our new tagline, "Safety. Community. Connection." underscores that Valora Place is more than just a shelter. It's a place where women, transgender and nonbinary people and their families and children will feel welcome and find safety and community.  With the goal of disrupting the isolation felt by people and families affected by intimate partner harm, our brand identity is bold, energizing and welcoming.
