Nature and Environmental Stewardship: The Work Behind the Visibility

Protecting natural environments is often framed as a question of scale. But the actual work happens at a much more specific level, in the organizations building infrastructure to monitor freshwater systems, steward trail networks, and help communities stay connected to the landscapes they depend on.

That work is harder to see than a policy announcement or a headline about biodiversity loss. It requires sustained effort, strong partnerships, and communications that help organizations translate complex environmental work into something funders, partners, and the public can engage with.

At Ramp, we care deeply about the role nature plays in people’s lives and the importance of protecting the land and water that support healthy communities. In 2025, that commitment shaped our work with Trans Canada Trail, which stewards the world’s longest recreational trail network, and DataStream, which connects scientists, communities, and decision-makers through shared access to freshwater data across Canada.
