Helping people connect and engage through storytelling and strategic communications have always been a passion for Shellene Drakes-Tull. With a deep knowledge of traditional and non-traditional communications, as well as strong journalism skills, Shellene launched Sweet Lime Communications in 2017, an agency that takes a crisp, clean look at words, social media, using an anti-oppressive lens.
Shellene has shared the stories of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Toronto District School Board, Deloitte, Ryerson University, Parents of Black Children, and others. For the second year, Shellene is instructing the Modern-Day Griot Project at the University of Toronto Scarborough to support, inspire, and uplift Black students using Nguzo Saba principles and storytelling techniques.
